This four-book-in-one reference guide introduces the readers to superfoods and their benefits.
The reader who will buy [easyazon-link asin=”B008PR9Y16″ locale=”us”]Nutrition Superfood Reference – Live A Longer, Healthier And Sexier Life. (The Secret Superfood Series)[/easyazon-link] is someone who is health conscious and looking to expand their superfood knowledge base or is looking for recipes and ways to expand their uses of the superfoods. I’d like to make an argument for people like me who are thinking of making small changes.
I am overweight, over 40 and sit at a desk all day at work. I’ve been thinking about making some changes, but with a child and her activities and work, what can I do? Kenneth makes a very good argument for superfoods in [easyazon-link asin=”B008PR9Y16″ locale=”us”]Nutrition Superfood Reference – Live A Longer, Healthier And Sexier Life. (The Secret Superfood Series)[/easyazon-link]. Honey is a superfood that is gaining widespread exposure. In Ontario if you call the nurse help line with a chest cold, they tell you to take honey every hour. Maca is probably less known—used to treat menstrual disorders, depression and sexual problems. Kenneth not only tells us what Maca is, does and the dangers, she introduces us to ways that we can use it in our daily lives. Do you make smoothies? Use Maca in powdered form for your smoothies or sprinkle it over your cereal.
Should I advise my mom to try Spirulina (derived from a blue mud from Lake Texcoco)? No, my mom takes Prednisone and Kenneth tells us that Spirulina can interfere with the effectiveness of that drug. Those sort of interaction facts right at our fingertips is invaluable.
A lot of the [easyazon-link asin=”B008PR9Y16″ locale=”us”]Nutrition Superfood Reference – Live A Longer, Healthier And Sexier Life. (The Secret Superfood Series)[/easyazon-link] is dry and posed in an informational way, just as a book of this type should be. Despite the medical-textbook quality of the writing, I found myself drawn into the information and making a list of things that I want to try. Acai Berry Jam. Tell me that doesn’t sound good? I don’t know that I’d go to the trouble of making jam more than once but it might be something fun to do, and then Berry Jam on toast for breakfast is easy enough to get that Acai superfood into my diet. Emerald Sea Salad with Phytoplankton. I don’t know how easy it is to find Phytoplankton, but the salad includes scallops and fruit which says to me that it might be a tasty dinner for a summer day. These are just a few of the recipes included, but if these listed sound too involved, there’s also a recipe for beef stew and chicken with coconut milk that appear to be very straightforward recipes to follow.
Has my life changed as a result of reading this book? Not yet but stay tuned because it might. At a $4 price point, maybe picking [easyazon-link asin=”B008PR9Y16″ locale=”us”]Nutrition Superfood Reference – Live A Longer, Healthier And Sexier Life. (The Secret Superfood Series)[/easyazon-link] up could change yours too? Now I just need to find someone in southern Ontario who sells Spirulina.
